ARX200 with Magnified A, Compensator and laser for a rifle that rewards controlling the vertical climb yourself, PRB92 with Muzzle Brake and laser as a matching backup, and Stun Grenades as the default utility.

Expert recommendation

Written and reviewed by hand for this patch. This is an opinion, not a win-rate measurement.

Why it works

Compensator is the pick when you already keep the ARX200 controlled vertically and horizontal drift is what actually costs you during a spray — it's less forgiving than Flash Hider, but it rewards that control, which matters for Nomad holding a long flank angle rather than close engagements. Magnified A gives the reach that angle calls for, and the laser sharpens hip-fire for the rare close trade. The PRB92 mirrors it with Muzzle Brake and the same laser attachment for a consistent backup.

Who it is best for

Players who want Stun Grenades as the default utility — they disorient a flank or cover Nomad's own Airjab-created access, which matters since Nomad plays away from the main push and needs to be self-sufficient.

One common mistake

Placing flank denial where nobody actually flanks, then leaving the angle.

Situational alternatives

When the recommended Nomad setup is not the right call.

Utility-focused setup

Gadget
Stun Grenade changed to Breach Charge

Switch to Breach Charge when nobody else on the team is opening a vertical line — Nomad's own gadget doesn't create hard access on its own, so this fills that gap if it would otherwise go unfilled.

Tradeoff: You lose the Stun Grenade's ability to disorient a flank or cover an entry.

2.5x. The old ACOG. Real reach down a sightline, at the cost of close-range swing.

Reduces horizontal recoil drift. Rewards players who already control vertical climb.

Reduces vertical recoil. The default pick for sustained fire.

No optic. The cleanest peripheral vision, and nothing to obstruct a close angle.
